The End of My Jacket

Today, after successfully implemented a code snippet which can logically draw out colored path using .NET component designer, I put on my jacket, plug my Sony MDR-EX815SL headphone to my ears, which is connected to my Creative ZEN Vision:M and left work to catch my bus.

The weather was warm and the sky was gorgeous as I walk down the street. I took off my jacket and hang it on top of my shoulder bag. As I stopped at the end of the cross walk, I saw my bus 17 which was about to turn and stop at a bus station about a block ahead of me. I walked pass the cross walk and tried to fix my headphone position in my ear, I heard some car honked at me, or possibly at another person. I looked back but didn't notice anything, so I continued walk across the street.

As I about to reach to the bus station, where bus 17 waiting for me, I noticed something was wrong... WHERE IS MY JACKET ... I bet it fell off, should I miss my bus and get my jacket? Of course I would! I quickly walk back to the cross walk and realized my jacket is on the road.

I was anxious getting back my jacket, but the street cars were fast and it was a red light for the pedestrian. My heart was beating fast as I watch 1, 2, 3 ... 6 cars drive either over or on my jacket. Then I saw this red car, Zoom... my jacket is no longer on the road...

I yelled..."Oh.. my jacket..." While the other pedestrians watching my hopeless face. The car dragged my jacket away under its body and stopped 2 blocks away at a red light. What should I do? Chase for it. A man suggested me to stop the red car 2 blocks away. Feeling stupid of chasing for the jacket since I figured that I probably wouldn't able to make it, I resigned and said "it's ok, not necessary"...

As I walked to another bus station for bus 9 (since I missed the 17), I felt a bit regret why I didn't chase for it. Lucky, I didn't have any thing in the jacket pocket.

I kept telling myself that it is only a jacket, I should feel say about "non-living" things. I shall have no feeling to "non-living" in this materialized society. Under the influence of sad feel for my jacket as I imaging how the car trorture it apart, and my logical sense of forgetting about this event, the memory of how much I like to wear that jacket kept resonating in my mind.

... must refund my headphone...

July 29 Trip: Tsawwassen to Seatle Activities: Seatle Space Needle, Artistic at Play Playground If we wanted to visit the US, this would be the day because the rest of the trip was already planned. This justified my effort to turn back home for the passports on day 1. Driving to the US border was about 35 min, but the estimated wait time was 90 minutes.
