Migraine Suffering (Recent study)

What an crappy date on Thrusday! My orginal plan is go to work, make my money, then go to Golf Driving for learnnnig and fun. Guess what, my migraine started in the morning, and I missed my work in the moring. I was luckly enough that my vomitting didn't come until an hour later I took the Advil migraine pill. In 2 hr, the pill start working, which then I went for some good rest for a couple of hour. After I woke up, I felt crappy the whole day, which was expected from my migraine suffering exprience.

Today, my friend talked to me about this device that can help stopping before migraine start. In my case, whenever migraine begin to strike, I see zip-zap line.

here is the article for the device: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/health/healthmain.html?in_article_id=392705&in_page_id=1774

The most important part in that article that I felt is the following passage:

"Traditionally, doctors believed the condition to be caused by swelling of the blood vessels in the brain. In recent years, however, scientists have discovered that migraine sufferers have unusually excitable brain nerve cells — know as neurons.

According to Dr Andrew Dowson, director of Headache Services at King's College Hospital, London, migraines start in the hypothalamus area at the front of the brain.

Triggers vary from one person to another, but common culprits include lack of sleep, foods such as cheese, extreme emotions, dieting and hormonal factors.

When an attack is triggered, electrical pulses ripple from the back of the brain, across the top, then back down to an area of the brainstem known as the raphe nucleus, where the pain centre to the face is located.

This causes a brief increase of blood flow. The pain of migraine is caused when blood vessels become inflamed by the swings in blood flow or by the brainstem stimulation."

Finally, some new understand of what's going on when one suffer from migraine. My migraine episode usually last for 4hrs, follow by lack of energy and crappy mood.

I believe this is largly due to my lack of sleep.

Oh well, time to sleep!
